Blogging With AdSense - How to Turn Your Blog Into an ATM

By reading this article you've taken your first step toward earning a comfortable income online. You'll learn how blogging with AdSense is one of the easiest ways to begin earning money with a website and you'll learn how to do it right. I'll teach you how to get a blog and what to do once you've got one. If you follow this article, there'll be no need for tedious trial and error like so many others go through. Once your blog is up and running it should only take a small amount of time each day to keep it updated and keep the money rolling in.

The first thing you'll need is, of course, a blog. If you don't already have one you can set one up very quickly through one of the numerous sites that host free blogs. The two major sites people use to create blogs are Blogger.com and Wordpress.com. Either site will let you set up a totally free blog but Wordpress doesn't allow you to use AdSense so, for our purposes here, Blogger is the better choice. You can also get free webhosting at places such as 5gigsfree.com and other similar sites. Often they will have the option to install Wordpress on your website for you and, since it's on your own website, you'll be able to run AdSense with Wordpress that way.

Once you've got your blog, either on Blogger, Wordpress or your own website, you'll need an AdSense account to begin earning money from your blog. AdSense is easy enough to set up as long as your blog follows their guidelines. Google's guidelines for what websites can use AdSense are pretty standard: no adult content, no hate speech, nothing illegal. You're AdSense application will probably be approved a bit quicker if you have some content on your blog before you apply so you may want to quickly write three or four posts or get a couple of articles from EzineArticles.com and repost them to your blog. After 24-48 hours you should get an email from Google saying that your site is approved for AdSense and they'll explain how to get the AdSense code to add to your site. If you're using Blogger to host your blog, you can set up your AdSense account right from your Blog and it's usually active much more quickly.

Once you have your AdSense code, you'll have to put it onto your blog. If you're using Blogger it's very easy to do:

Log into Blogger.com If you're using the classic Blogger template then:
Go to the Templates tab and click the AdSense link.
You should see a "preview" of your blog and how it will look with the AdSense ads on it.
Use the menus at the top of the preview window to change the size, shape and colors of your ads.
Once you're happy with how the ads look, just republish your blog.

If you're using a "Layouts Enabled" blog, just insert a new page element and then click the AdSense option.
If AdSense shows up but gives you ads that have nothing to do with your blog content, don't worry. It can take up to 48 hours for Google's AdSense software to crawl your site and find out what you're writing about. Once it's done that you should begin to see ads that are relevant to your blogs content.

So, you have a blog and you have AdSense on it. Now what? Now you start getting some traffic so that your visitors can click your ads. And how do you do that? One of the best ways is to comment on other peoples blog posts. When you read a blog--any blog, not just those on Blogger--click the "comment" button and leave a nice message for the author. Be sure to type in the URL to your blog if the comment form allows it, that way if anyone reads your comment they can visit your blog and they may end up clicking on one of your AdSense ads and you'll be paid. If you post in forums you can also add your blog's URL to your signature on the forum. That way, each time you post, you'll be leaving a link to your blog for all the forum readers to see.

Now that you've learned how to set up a blog and how to get AdSense on it and even get a few visitors to it, you're well on your way to making a bit of extra cash from your blog. Remember to update your blog regularly, at least once a week if not more, so that your visitors will keep coming back. The more people that see your blog, and return to it, the better your chances of having someone click one of your AdSense ads.

HOW TO SET UP A BLOG

A blog is an important part of the new Web 2.0. It is very popular today because it gives users a sense of ownership to a site when they can post their own comments directly to the web pages. The best beginner site to use is Blogger. You can get started with your own blog in just a few simple steps.

The first thing you need to know about a blog are the three components. These include the title, sidebar, and the post. The title is the title of your blog. The sidebar will run along side of the page of your blog. It may contain links or a way for people to subscribe to your blog. This will give people notifications when new postings have been added. The post is the actual page of the blog containing comments from you and the visitors to the blog. Postings can include text, audio, and even video files.

Creating a Blogger account is simple. You will go to the site and create an account or you can use your own Google account if you have one. If not, create an account by giving a valid and current email address and agree to the terms of service. You will also be required to choose a name that will be displayed as you on each blog posting. The next step you will be asked to name the blog and choose the URL address that you would like to use for your blog. You do have a choice if you own your own domain. If you do not own your own business website then Blogger will create a URL for you.

After you have a domain name for your blog you will be required to choose a template for your blog. The template is a design of the layout of your blog. You can change the template later if you do not like the way it looks. After you have chosen the template you can immediately begin posting to your blog. All you have to do is click on submit new blog. That's it!

There are many sites across the web which provide blog creation for an online business or for personal use. These sites include WordPress, Vox, Typepad, and Blogger. Blogger is the easiest for newbies. If you plan on moving your blog to a stand alone host eventually you might consider using WordPress.

Setting up a blog through any of the popular blog sites is really simple to do and it is free. You can have a blog up and running for your online business in less than 5 minutes. A blog allows you to create hype about a business, increase traffic, create inbound links, and so much more.
